he Mahomet Area Youth Club (MAYC) is looking for individuals who love to work with kids for our summer day camp program.
Counselors assist Group Leaders in being responsible for a group of 10 to 15 elementary or Jr. High age children daily during summer day camp programming. They are responsible for ensuring children’s safety, managing children’s behavior, acting as a role model and mentor, model constructive participation in all daily activities and ensuring a fun experience. They will work closely with their Group Leader, the Program Director and Executive Director to implement activities and to ensure the safety of all children. Counselors with the help of the children where appropriate are also expected to assist in cleaning up during the day and at the end of each day to ensure facilities are kept neat and tidy for continued use. Counselors should be at least 16 years of age or have a work permit.
Counselors are expected to work a minimum of 15- 20 hours per week. This is a paid position. Starting pay $11/hr. All Counselors must participate in mandatory training before the summer program begins.

Group Leaders are expected to work a minimum of 25-30 hours per week. This is a paid position. Starting pay $12/hr. Group Leaders must participate in mandatory training before the summer program begins.
